If a surface looks like it needs to be painted, it is usually two-three years beyond when it should have been painted. Paint is not only an aesthetic product, it protects the surface underneath. To properly protect the substrates, paint must not crack, peel, or flake. Therefore, you should repaint every 2-4 years, depending on the finish, surface, and type of coating used.
The lifespan of a coating is based upon several factors, including the number of coats, the type of paint/stain, the finish (i.e. flat, satin or semi-gloss), and the substrate being covered.
The most commonly used paints and stains on building exteriors are acrylic latex based products. They hold their color well and expand and contract well with weather changes.
The finishes of these products last about:
Flat finish 2-3 years
Satin finish 3-4 years
Semi-gloss 4 years

Without a doubt, preparation is the most important aspect of a quality paint project. If you apply a coating to an unstable surface, the paint will not adhere properly and will fail before its time. AAA takes the time to properly prepare each surface, which may include power washing, sanding, scraping, or spackling. Proper preparation helps the paint last longer and allows AAA to offer a solid warranty in its work.
Every project is unique and AAA customizes solutions and crews to meet your needs. Being a large painting contractor, AAA can typically finish projects in far less time than its competitors. What might take another contractor all summer to finish, AAA can complete in several weeks. AAA is designed for large projects and tight deadlines. Small crews are also available for work orders and touch up work.
Scheduling begins as soon as paperwork is submitted and deposits are received. In some cases AAA can begin a project in several days. During busy seasons or when special materials need to be ordered, the project may need to be scheduled in the near future. In either case, AAA works with you to ensure your deadlines are met.
AAA’s crews can work year round. Exterior painting typically continues into early November. Interior painting continues year round.
AAA performs interior painting year round. Exterior painting crews usually begin in March. Schedules fill quickly in the Spring, so the sooner a job is scheduled, the sooner it will begin.
Wood inspections can occur as long as there is not snow and ice.
