Wood Replacement

Any wood that is exposed to moisture and heat is susceptible to rotting wood.  Exterior trim is the most vulnerable, but window sills, drip caps, and any wood near dirt or concrete is also open to decay.

How to Spot Rotting Wood
Not all rotting wood is apparent.  If you see any of the following, you most likely have rotting wood:  cracked, peeling or blistering paint, wood that is darker than the surrounding areas, or wood that is green with algae. When inspecting for rotting wood, see if you can press a screwdriver into the wood.  If you can, then it’s time to replace the wood.

Wood Replacement or Repair
Depending on the extent of the rotting wood, AAA Construction may replace all or just part of the wood.  If the wood was installed poorly or needs flashing, it is probably most efficient and least expensive to completely replace the rotten boards.  If the rot is contained to a small area and total replacement is impractical, then a wood patch may be possible.

In either situation, you can depend on AAA Construction’s 25 years of industry experience to install the latest materials with precision and expertise.  With proper construction and maintenance, your new wood will remain solid for years to come.
